What can I expect from a virtual RENT?
Your RENT experience includes inspiring speakers, an outstanding lineup of education for your entire team, access to the tradeshow resources, interactive engagement, and the opportunity to win prizes – all from the safety of your home or office.
What is the cost to attend the virtual RENT?
It’s $49 +GST for members and $69+GST for non-members. Please see our registration page for full details.
Who should attend the virtual RENT?
If you’re interested in the latest information on the community housing sector, you should join us! The event is designed to meet the needs of our sector in regions throughout BC, in roles ranging from leadership to asset management and frontline staff, and for varied interests including Indigenous housing, inclusive communities, mental health and trauma, sustainability and much more.
How can I be sure that my information will be confidential?

AT THE RENT
I haven’t registered yet, can I view the virtual sessions?
Anyone who attends the event must be registered. Registration opens on April 19 here.
What time zone will be used for the RENT?
Sessions will take place in Pacific Standard Time.
Will presentations be given live, or will they be pre-recorded?
We understand that a virtual event will be different from an in-person event. The events team is doing its best to plan a real-world RENT experience. Keynote presentations and education sessions will be given live. Recorded sessions will be available for viewing after the event for registrants only.
Will attendees be able to ask questions or participate in the sessions, or are the sessions just going to consist of streamed presentations?
We are aiming to make options available that include attendee interaction options like a live chat window and/or polling. We are working on ensuring that sessions are as interactive as possible with breakout rooms and small-group dialogues.
Will sessions be recorded and archived for later consumption?
Most of the sessions will be archived and available online, except where the facilitator has requested the recordings not be made available given the sensitivity of the topic. Recorded sessions will be available for viewing after the event for registrants only.
What accessibility features are in place to ensure all who want to participate get to do so?
BCNPHA is committed to an open, accessible event for all who attend. That’s why the plenaries and education sessions will be conducted on Zoom. Accessibility features include accessibility settings, keyboard accessibility, screen reader support, and automatic transcripts. And thanks to BC Housing, we will also be offering closed captioning for all live sessions and plenaries. Zoom is compliant with both Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA recommendations, with a few exceptions. Click here to learn more.

What happens if there are technical issues during a session?
Technology is great, but it doesn’t always perform how we need when we need it. With the added strain on networks as more people are at home and online, sessions may encounter technical glitches. If your session is disrupted (e.g. the internet connection drops, or a presenter is unable to stream video), we encourage you to continue the session if at all possible. If your session is disrupted and unable to proceed due to network or platform issues, you can connect with Zoom directly.
What happens if I am unable to see the session that I want to attend?
Virtual sessions will be recorded and archived after the RENT. If your connection does not allow you to participate live, we encourage you to access recorded sessions once they are made available (this will be announced and communicated by BCNPHA).
TECHNOLOGY
How do I connect to the event?
Registrants will receive a link to access the RENT – and that’s it! The plenaries, education sessions, networking opportunities and tradeshow take place in one seamless online environment. Instructions on how to log in and navigate the site will be provided to all delegates on May 18th.
What technology do I need to attend the conference?
Zoom is available on Windows, Mac and Linux. A stable broadband or wireless internet connection is recommended.

How do I log in?
Visit the RENT website on the day of the event and log in with the same BCNPHA account you used to register.
What if I do not have access to the Internet or have a weak Internet connection?
You will need an active Internet connection to attend the RENT. If you are concerned about slow connection speeds or that you might lose a connection during one of the sessions, most of the sessions will be recorded to view later.
What if I do not have a webcam, can I still participate?
It is not required that you have a webcam for the online RENT; you will still be able to chat and upload a profile picture to help you network with others!
